Also to know is, how deep should a gravel base be for a shed?
Gravel base is to be 2 feet larger thantheshed size. Example: 10x12 shed requires12x14base (see diagram below). Although a levelgravelbase is best for your shed, buildings 8' wideor lesscan be set on additional skids running the width ofthebuilding.
Likewise, how do you prepare the ground for a shed? Remove the grass from the area where you're placingtheshed. Pack the soil down in the area with a tamper. Pouratleast 2 inches of gravel in the area. This ground prephelpsthe water drain underneath the shed so the floordoesn'tbecome soggy or damaged.
Herein, what is the best base for a shed?
A good base can add decades to the life ofyourshed… SO DON'T SKIMP!
- Tanalised Timber Battens (or railway sleepers)
- A1BaseKIT or Pressure-Treated Frame.
- QuickJACK Metal Frame Supports.
