Just so, can silicone caulk be sanded?
It can be cleaned up with water (not paint thinner), but it's also water-resistant when dry. It can be sanded or painted. Pure silicone caulk will stick to painted surfaces, but you cannot paint over it. However, manufacturers do make a paintable silicone caulk if you need it.
Also to know is, is there a caulk that can be sanded?
Painter's Caulk – This is a must-have when painting around molding. It fills in all the fine joints, is sand-able and paintable. Applying too much caulking at once won't allow it to cure properly and it will fall away or crack open over a short period of time.
Safely Preparing Caulk for Paint It won't work. It is best, in fact, to avoid sanding your caulk at all. You should rough it up to receive your paint or primer, but instead of sanding, rub the caulk surface with a cloth and denatured alcohol.
