It's perfectly possible to sew into most fine suedes, and then rub the hole out afterwards. If the suede is fine enough, you can use a regular tailoring needle, rather than the thicker one normally used for leather. Normally suede jackets are made in goat, but we chose lamb because the skins are bigger.

No. The most difficult thing for a tailor to alter on any suit-like garment (that is, any garment that is considered "constructed" because it has some kind of stiffening inside it) is the shoulders. And the shoulders are the crux of the fit.
In this manner, can you alter leather jacket?
Yes, but it depends. Like with suit jackets and sport coats, you should try to make sure your leather jacket fits you well across the shoulders and chest, and that the armholes are high enough. It's not that these parts can't be altered; it's that the alteration can be expensive and risky.
Lightweight goose down jackets without inner lining, cannot be altered! Contrary to the popular belief, in most cases it is possible to make this warm, but bulky, garment fit you. From experience, inexpensive goose down jackets often cannot be changed to fit to your figure.
