Keeping this in consideration, can I use an iMac as a second monitor?
The 27-inch iMac has a bi-directionalMiniDisplayPort or a Thunderbolt port (depending on the model)thatcan be used to drive a second monitor. The sameMiniDisplayPort or Thunderbolt port can be used as a videoinputthat allows your iMac to serve as a monitorforanother Mac.
- Connect the monitor to your MacBook and turn it on.
- Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Displays.
- Click on the Arrangement tab.
- Select Mirror Displays from the bottom left corner.
- Select Show mirroring options in the menu barwhenavailable.
Keeping this in consideration, can I use the same wireless mouse on two Mac computers?
And controlling them both with the samekeyboardand mouse is not only more convenient–it savesa lotof time. You can even drag and drop files from onecomputerto the other. If you've wanted to use the samekeyboard andmouse on more than one Mac, you've hadtwomain options: Synergy and Teleport.
You can only use 27" iMacs inTargetDisplay mode. No sorry, a 21.5" 2010 iMacwillnot work. If you have a 27" Mid 2010 iMac, then youneed touse a Mini DisplayPort to MiniDisplayPortcable.
