Simply so, will fabric dye stain my bathtub?
Dye small, delicate or unusual items by hand with a bucket, sink, or bathtub. Do not use fabric dye in porcelain or fiberglass bathtubs due to the strong possibility of staining. Fill a suitable vessel (ex: bucket/sink/bathtub) with enough hot water so your material will be completely submerged under the water.
Just so, can you use Rit dye in bathtub?
First, use hot water. Rit dye really needs hot water to create deep, saturated colors. The hotter the better! We often boil water and then pour that directly into the dye bath.
Nonetheless, we can promise you Rit won't permanently stain any metal component on your machine. We even launched liquid dye just so that it would be easier to use Rit in your machine. With that much history, you can feel confident that your washing machine will stay dye free for decades to come.
