Can I return altered jeans at Uniqlo?

Be aware that Uniqlo's official policy declares that altered merchandise – even if it had been altered in-store at Uniqlo – may not be returned or exchanged at any time. However, the fact that your new jeans were made specifically to fit your measurements should ideally reduce the need to return them.

How much does it cost to get jeans hemmed?

It's a styling trick that doesn't cost much (changing the hem of jeans will run you around $10, while bigger fixes at most tailors will be under $50.) That means—using an inexpensive pair—you could end up with perfect jeans for a quarter of the price of designer denim.

What is blind stitch alteration?

A blind stitch, used most often when tailors or seamstresses hem dress pants, is a stitch used so that there is no "cuff" visible at the bottom of the pant. Not a cuff in a traditional sense, but the cuffs you'd see that fold inwards with the stitch visible on the outside.

What do Uniqlo sell?

It sells clothing, not fashion. Unlike competitors Zara and H&M, which produce hundreds of different trendy products each season, Uniqlo's staples are jeans, sweaters, jackets, etc. Uniqlo does not pay attention to trends. It sells pieces that fit seamlessly into the customer's wardrobe.

How do you hem pants?

Take off the pants; turn them inside out. Starting at the pin on one leg, use a hem gauge to measure the length from the edge of the fabric to the bottom fold. Use that measurement to fold and pin the hem around the leg (use six pins). Repeat with other leg.

Do you tip tailor?

I think also since tailors and car mechanics charge based on the difficulty of the case, you don't need to tip even if you have a difficult alteration. If your tailor does something like alter 7 shirts in a week at normal price, that might be a good reason to tip him.

Can Jeans be hemmed?

Shortening too-long jeans (aka hemming jeans) is generally the easiest alteration you can make to denim pants. A tailor or seamstress can shorten or hem jeans, either by cutting off some fabric and redoing the hems, or by taking up the hems in a way that doesn't involve cutting the fabric.
