How to Change Share Permissions
- Right-click the shared folder.
- Click “Properties”.
- Open the “Sharing” tab.
- Click “Advanced Sharing”.
- Click “Permissions”.
- Select a user or group from the list.
- Select either “Allow” or“Deny”for each of the settings.
Keeping this in consideration, how do I grant access to a shared folder?
Chose the Sharing Tab, click on Advanced Sharing.
- Check Share this Folder if its not already shared, assignShareName.
- Click on Permissions and add user, assign rights you want himtohave. If this is a folder shared among a lot of people somesuggestprefered practice is to share with "Everyone". ClickOK.
- Open Windows Explorer by pressing the Windows key andclickingComputer; then browse to the folder whose permissions youwant tomanage.
- Right-click the folder you want to manage and thenchooseProperties from the contextual menu.
- Click the Sharing tab; then click Advanced Sharing.
- Click Permissions.
Beside above, how do I access a shared drive?
To find and access a shared folder or printer:
- Search for Network , and click to open it.
- Select Search Active Directory at the top of the window; youmayneed to first select the Network tab on the upper left.
- From the drop-down menu next to "Find:", select eitherPrintersor Shared Folders.
Setting Permissions
- Access the Properties dialog box.
- Select the Security tab.
- Click Edit.
- In the Group or user name section, select the user(s) youwishto set permissions for.
- In the Permissions section, use the checkboxes to selecttheappropriate permission level.
- Click Apply.
- Click Okay.
