home and garden home appliancesHow do you adjust the drive belt on a Cub Cadet?
Similarly one may ask, how do you tighten the belt on a Cub Cadet?
Turn the ratchet toward the right side of the mower to loosen the belt tension on a 46-inch deck. If your Cub Cadet lawn tractor has a 50-inch deck, set the 3/8-inch drive ratchet to tighten, and insert it into the square hole on the idler bracket. Turn it toward the right side of the mower to loosen the belt tension.
- Disconnect the black wire from the battery terminal, and then disconnect the red wire.
- Grab the drive belt with both hands, one hand on each side of the idler pulley.
- Move the double-idler bracket forward slightly.
- Pull the drive belt off of the idler pulley and the double-idler bracket.
Similarly, how does the belt go on a Cub Cadet?
Put the belt covers back on the outer pulleys. Slide the cutting deck back under the mower. Route the deck belt around the engine pulley and secure the belt keeper rod. Insert the click pin into the front deck hanger rod.
When the blade drive belt on a Craftsman lawn mower wears, it loosens and begins to slip. In time the blades won't rotate. Blade drive belts on Craftsman lawn mowers are not designed to be be adjusted and there is no mechanism for adjusting them.
