food and drink desserts and bakingHow do you erupt a paper mache volcano?
Add 3 to 4 drops of dishwashing detergent and 3 to 4 drops of red food coloring. Add the baking soda and stir with a narrow utensil or stick. Pour some vinegar into the small, paper cup so the cup is about 1/3 full. Quickly pour the vinegar into the volcano crater, step back, and watch the volcano's bubbly eruption!

Here's what to do:
- Cut the spout off of the water bottle.
- Tape the water bottle, open side up, to the cardboard using the masking tape.
- Scrunch together balls of newspaper.
- Mix together the flour and water until you have a thick paste.
- Tear strips of newspaper.
- Dip the newspaper strips in the paste and pull them out.

Baking Soda and Vinegar Volcano
- Plastic cup (We tried a water bottle, but the plastic cup worked much better)
- Water.
- 3-4 Tbs of baking soda at least (we usually do 4-6 which makes it extra foamy and will do 2-3 eruptions)
