medical health diabetesHow does diabetes affect your endocrine system?
Besides, is diabetes endocrine or neurological?
The endocrine system influences how your heart beats, how your bones and tissues grow, even your ability to make a baby. It plays a vital role in whether or not you develop diabetes, thyroid disease, growth disorders, sexual dysfunction, and a host of other hormone-related disorders.
Just so, what body systems are affected by diabetes?
These complications can affect almost every organ system in the body, including the brain, heart, kidneys, eyes, nervous system, skin and soft tissues. If uncontrolled, diabetes can lead to stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, blindness, chronic pain and amputations.
The nervous system can be affected by diabetes mellitus, both directly and indirectly. Examples of direct effects are when blood glucose levels get very high or very low, both of which can cause the brain to not function normally.
