There Are How Many Books?!
The Wheel of Time series includes 14 books, plus one prequel. The paperbacks for the series average 826 pages each.

Herein, how long are the Wheel of Time books?

The books are LONG. I consider myself an average reader (speed wise) and it takes me anywhere from 7 to 10 days to read a Wheel of Time book. I'll usually read about 120-150 pages a day. Word of advice and I think this can apply to any of the longer series, don't read all 14 of them in a row.

Are Rand and Elayne related?

Rand is the son of Tigraine (Shaiel) and Taringail. Elayne is the daughter of Morgase and Taringail. So no close relation between the two of them. Moiraine is Taringails half sister, which makes her Rands half aunt.

Where does the wheel of time start?

So we recommend you start with Eye of the World, the first book in the series. Once you've read the first six or so books, that would be a good time to read the prequel.

Is Wheel of Time for adults?

The Wheel of Time is a very good example of an age-agnostic series, if you ask me. It's suitable for young adults, but it wasn't written specifically for them. If you wanted to use movie ratings, it would be a hard PG-13 or a very soft R for the entire series.

How tall is Rand Al Thor?

RJ gave a little height information that slightly contradicts some previous info supposedly gleaned from a signings encounter. Rand is, of course, about 6'6". Moiraine, however, is actually as tall as 5'3", and Egwene and Nynaeve are both about 5'5".

I can rank them coarsely, but getting a fully linear list is impossible for me.
  • Best: Eye of the World, Shadow Rising, Lord of Chaos, Memory of Light.
  • Great: Great Hunt, Fires of Heaven, Knife of Dreams, Towers of Midnight, Gathering Storm.
  • Fine: Dragon Reborn, Crown of Swords, Winter's Heart.
  • Boring: Path of Daggers.

Is Wheel of Time worth reading?

Overall, this series is one I highly recommend to just about anyone who enjoys high fantasy. It's a truly one-of-a-kind literary achievement that Jordan created (and Sanderson finished). It's a heavy investment given the size of the series, but one that I think is well worth it.

Should you read new spring first?

New Spring was definitely the second best book in the series after Eye of the World. It was smaller, and had a faster pace. If you're reading the series for the first time, I suggest reading Spring after you have finished Knife of Dreams. Then, whenever you reread the series (if you can be bothered) read it before Eye.
