Beside above, can you build walls on Dricore?

Stud walls can be set right on top of your new DRICORE subfloor. Install your 2X4 walls directly on top of the DRICORE panels, measuring for a snug fit between the panels and ceiling. Once the walls are framed and in position, simply screw the bottom plates of the 2X4 wall to the DRICORE panels, using 2" wood screws.

Do you screw down Dricore?

Remember that DRIcore must be installed as a floating floor. Normally it is not recommended to nail, glue or screw DRIcore panels to the concrete surface. In some instances, we suggest minimal fastening of the panels to the concrete surface.

Is DRIcore and barricade the same?

What it is is that Dricore uses a membrane like DeltaMS to allow moisture to move away, and barricade uses XPS foam for insulation. I put XPS over the DeltaMS, then I layered it all with plywood (which both dricore and barricade have).

Does the subfloor go under walls?

Moisture trapped under a building's walls often rots the subfloor. Left alone, the moisture eventually destroys the joists below, and the wall's plate above, the subfloor. A rotted area of the subfloor often extends under the wall.

Is subfloor necessary for basement?

Subfloors are not always necessary. They only come into play when you want to expand downward and make your basement a warm, livable space. Concrete or tile-over-concrete are acceptable floors for uninhabited basements.

In new-construction homes where no flooring has been laid yet, this is the way it works: walls are put up first, then the floor covering comes later. When you run a floor sander around a room, there is the possibility of scuffing up newly painted walls.

Can I install tile over Dricore?

Ceramic Tile - DRIcore is designed to act as a floating subfloor. It is not recommended that ceramic tile be directly attached to DRIcore as the movement of the floating subfloor will cause tile and grout lines to crack.

Do I need subfloor?

While a subfloor is not necessary to add structural strength when you'll be laying finish flooring on top of a concrete slab (as in a basement remodel), subflooring over concrete offers two other advantages: If necessary, place sleepers (mini-joists) to raise the subfloor above a very damp concrete slab.

Do you install subfloor before framing?

If you use a product like DriCore for the subfloor, they even explicitly recommend you frame on top of their subfloor product. They do, however, recommend you screw the framing through the subfloor into the concrete with something like 3" Tapcons spaced every 4 ft through the bottom sill of the framing.

Installation
  1. In your selected starting corner, lay the first panel with the tongue sides against the temporary 1/4" spacers.
  2. Press-fit panels together with a tapping block and hammer, making sure seams are tight.
  3. Stagger panel seams similar to a brick wall pattern.
  4. Use DRICORE leveling shims for any floor variations less than 1/4".
