technology and computing information and network securityIs Fouo a ITAR?
In this manner, what qualifies as FOUO?
For Official Use Only (FOUO) For Official Use Only (FOUO) is a document designation, not a classification. This designation is used by Department of Defense and a number of other federal agencies to identify information or material which, although unclassified, may not be appropriate for public release.
Besides, how do you dispose of Fouo?
(1) Non-record copies of FOUO materials may be destroyed by shredding or tearing each copy into pieces to prevent reconstructing, and placing them in regular trash containers. Alternatively, the shredded paper may be placed in recycle bins if the local contract permits shredded paper to be placed in the recycle bins.
FOUO information may be transmitted over official email channels. However, it shall not be sent to personal email accounts. For added security when transmitting FOUO information by email, password protected attachments may be used with the password transmitted or otherwise communicated separately.
