Even though it's called morning sickness, itcanlast all day and happen any time of day. At least 7 in 10pregnantwomen (70 percent) have morning sickness in thefirsttrimester (first 3 months or the first 12 weeks)ofpregnancy. It usually starts at about 6 weeksofpregnancy and is at its worst at about9weeks.

- darkening of the areolas.
- constant fatigue.
- tender and swollen breasts.
- food aversions and cravings.
- mild pelvic cramping.
Additionally, does morning sickness get worse before it gets better?
You might notice that the nausea is worse whenyouencounter certain smells or when you eat certain types offoods. Atits peak, the nausea and vomiting may be slightlyworse andmore frequent. However, it should still be mild.Many women findthat they need to take it easy during the peak ofmorningsickness.
Morning sickness usually starts inearlypregnancy and peaks at about nine weeks (Niebyl et al2010).It usually improves toward the end of the first trimester,andclears up completely for many women by 16 weeks to 20 weeksofpregnancy (NHS 2015, NICE 2013, Niebyl etal2010).
