music and audio gospel musicWho is more resilient Hamlet or Oedipus?
Also question is, who is the better tragic hero -- Oedipus or Hamlet?
The tragic hero of Hamlet finds himself burdened with the task of avenging his father's death from the start of the play, and is not himself the source of the pollution of regicide, while Oedipus is of course the unwitting fashioner of his own doom, which is unveiled to him through recognition and repentance.
Considering this, how is Hamlet like Oedipus?
However, Hamlet and Oedipus may show similar character traits. Both hamlet and Oedipus were motivated by their goal which was to kill the former King. Also trait wise, They were both deceived by their parents. First of all, the most obvious similarity between the two characters are that they are both tragic hero.
Both Hamlet and Oedipus can be classified as tragic hero because they meet many of the qualities required to be considered one. Hamlet flaw was the cause of his death but for Oedipus there were multiple factors including his flaw that led to his defeat. In the end both suffered one way or another.
